TCC Governance
Posted on March 5, 2011 by Church Clerk | Link.
Tewksbury Congregational Church was established in 1734 by some 34 resident families who signed The Covenant and Articles of Faith. TCC conducts its work through the efforts of individual members serving in voluntary roles as officers and on several boards and committees. The details of that structure, the identification, role, and responsibilities of church officers and committees, and the overall mission of the church are outlined in Constitution and Bylaws recently enacted in February 2012 attached below.
All business of the church to be conducted at all official meetings must be brought to the congregation through a warrant petition process. The warrants calling meetings of the Church shall be prepared and posted by the Clerk of the Church on at least one Sunday previous to the meeting. Proposed articles for the Warrants shall be submitted to the Clerk in writing by Officers, Boards, Committees, or by written request of three (3) active members.
The Warrant Petition Form attached should be submitted to the Clerk to call a Special Meeting or add an article to the Annual or Semi-annual Meeting.

New Initiatives
Posted on April 10, 2011 by Board of Ministries | Link.
When a committee, staff member, or other member of the church wants to start up a new program or initiative, there is a process to make sure that it fits within the overall mission of the church and does not duplicate or interfere with other programs. This occurs by submitting a "white paper" to the Board of Ministries for review and approval. The Board will direct the applicant to the appropriate resources within the church, identify potential areas of concern, and finally approve or deny the proposal based on the discernment of the Board with regards to the value and impact of the proposed activity. If the proposed activity falls outside the budget of a standing committee, the applicant may submit their idea through the New Initiative Fund which the congregation enacted at the 2011 Annual Meeting.
Applicants should send any questions to the Board and when ready to begin the process submit the attached form.

Fundraisers
Posted on March 4, 2011 by Board of Ministries | Link.
Several committees, fellowship groups, and other groups at TCC support portions of their programs or specific initiatives through volunteer-led fundraisers such as breakfasts, dinners, and other such events.
In order to provide an appropriate timing and tenor of fundraising activities at TCC, a procedure for the consideration and approval of fundraising activities were developed. The attached form outlines the procedure and should be submitted with any request.

Tewksbury Congregational Church believes that ALL school should be fun, and that includes church school. Children enrolled in our tuition FREE education program meet in grade specific classrooms on Sunday mornings, where the hour activity period begins with a story and is followed by crafts, projects, and activities. For the junior and high school youth, TCC has a vibrant and active Contemporary Youth Worship which is held on Sunday mornings at 9:30. For parents with babies and toddlers, we offer care in our nursery which is staffed by an adult volunteer as well as a youth aide. Whether you are 18 days old or 18 years old, we invite you to be a part of our youth education program. You can find all the information you could want at the weekly web newsletter, Crib Sheets or in the attached RE Handbook. Reimbursement and Purchasing Process
Posted on May 15, 2011 by Finance Committee | Link.
In order to conduct the work of the church, it is often necessary to order supplies and services from various vendors. In order for this to happen in an orderly and efficient manner, a process is in place for requesting a check to pay for a service (Purchase Request) or to be reimbursed for the purchase of supplies (Reimbursement Request). The respective attached form needs to be completed and submitted to the Chair of the Committe with oversight of the particular item. Once approved by the Committee Chair, the form must be passed to the Treasurer for processing.
